I want to share how impressed I was with yesterday’s event. Delightful and inspiring, kudos to you.
I was so pleased to have an opportunity to take part in the Career Hacker Café and meet the young people who will be heading into the workforce. Thank you for the opportunity to talk with them about the importance of good money management. I also got the chance to meet with employers and find out what is important to them and how Bar Harbor might be able to help them out. We’re especially proud to have been able to provide a scholarship to a deserving student. I would be very interested in taking part in future events.
I really felt alive with the ideas and possibilities this Career Hacker Cafe is offering for young people who are trying to find career opportunities that will both support their ability to live productive, fun and contributing lives while continuing to grow and learn in that process. The business representatives were also key to understanding where those needs are and I especially enjoyed hearing them share the visions and values of their respective companies which were alive with connection, growth, community and a commitment to being a great employer right here in New Hampshire. What an amazing opportunity for young people trying to figure out what might be next for them and for employers struggling to fill workforce positions and keep our local economy strong.
I enjoyed the Made in the Trades event and would love to attend one in Derry, NH. I found it to be mutually beneficial to both myself and the other attendees (especially the students and prospective students). Having a true success story give a brief spiel about what has happened to him provided the biggest bang for the buck that evening. The best thing that could happen for Hitchiner is getting the word out that we are hiring.
Thank you for sponsoring such a nice event; it was great for the students to be able to show off for their parents and add to their self confidence and feeling of worth. I appreciated that the event (Made in the Trades) allowed me to be introduced to two industry contacts that I hadn’t met before, and I look forward to attending additional events to continue to network.
